Hornex Calf Dehorner 42.7% w/w Cutaneous Paste

Hornex Calf Dehorner is a POM-VPS cutaneous paste for the removal of embryo horns in young calves. It contains sodium hydroxide 42.7% w/w and is suitable for use on calves not older than 7 days old.

Hornex should be applied directly to the horn bud area in accordance with the product instructions. It is for external use only and must not be used on calves over 7 days old. Care must be taken to keep the paste away from the calf’s eyes and to prevent the paste becoming wet after application.

As this is a POM-VPS veterinary medicine, it can only be supplied following review by a suitably qualified person. Customers will be required to complete the relevant animal and treatment information before the order is approved.

Important Safety Information

Hornex is a caustic product and must be handled with care. Protective gloves and suitable eye/face protection should be worn when applying the paste. Keep the product away from skin, eyes and clothing. Do not allow the paste to become wet after application. Keep the cow away from the calf for half an hour after treatment.
